23rd Annual Buttercup Festival
Thank you, Nolensville! It was another great Historic Nolensville Buttercup Festival! The Buttercup committee members: Heather Bell of Nolensville Toy Shop, Holli Oglesby of The Village Antiques and Gifts – Nolensville, TN, Charisse Ward of The Diva Shoppe, our Pageant Director & Social Media Coordinator, my daughter Rachel Wiseman Boduch, and myself, Debbie Suttmiller, want to thank everyone that has helped us and supported us! All the vendors are so amazing, and our sponsors are such a joy to work with – they enable us to provide 2 Evelyn Bennett Scholarships and donations to local charities.
New to the festival this year was the Car Show, and Ben Segura did an amazing
job putting it all together! Another addition was our Dog Show. It was so much fun, and Agape Animal Rescue was our host and organizer for the day. The Music Stage was top notch, and the performers were over-the-top amazing! Thanks so much, Jeremy Pharr you ROCKED IT!
The Nolensville Police Department never disappoints, and they certainly did not yesterday. There are so many people to thank, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you!
We always get people that are so excited about the festival and love the day with all that it has to offer. We also get a few that aren’t as excited. Some ask why is it on Sunday, why don’t they move it to another area and other such things.
We do our best and just want everyone to have a good time celebrating the community and enjoying the day!
I want to emphasize the history of the festival and the people that organize it. 24 years ago, Evelyn and Alfred Bennett and a few other local business owners got together and decided to try having a festival that would bring awareness to the then, extremely small Historic District. Not many came out all the way to Nolensville, it was just so far away from Nashville and Franklin, it seemed. What could be done to attract people to the small town? So the festival was born. It has grown from just 20-30 vendors to what it is today with over 120 vendors. A Miss and Little Miss Buttercup Pageant, Horse Rides, and Live Local Music. Plus this year, the addition of a Dog Show, A Car Show, and our Music Stage instead of a flatbed trailer! It has grown and blossomed into such a wonderful fun family event.
There is truly something for everyone all in the heart of the small town of Nolensville. And the inspiration behind the hard work of the above-mentioned committee is, the scholarships, the charitable donations, and the look on Maren Elise’s face when her name was announced as Miss Buttercup 2023!
Thanks again everyone that was a part of this year’s successful 23rd Annual Historic Nolensville Buttercup Festival! Without you all, it wouldn’t be possible.
