An Interview with the NHS 2025 Golf Team Head Coach, Chris Ladd

How excited are you to be coaching this year’s team?

I am very excited to see how our Golf Team performs this season. We will have seven total seniors on the team. Six boys and one girl. These golfers have been competing in our District and Region the past two-three years as a very young group but this year we are finally a more “mature” team. I am hoping that experience and maturity will translate into success on the golf course.

What are your expectations of the 2025 Team?

Our expectation is to compete for the top three spots in our district as a team and have a few individuals on both the girls and boys team qualify for the Region tournament. We have a few golfers that could also play well enough to qualify for the State Tournament if they play their best golf at the right time.

Who are your key Seniors?

Key seniors for us this year are Tygaraja Mandayam, Caleb Gilbert, and Landon Patterson.  Tygaraja and Caleb qualified for the District Tournament last year and Landon was an alternate. We are also returning to strong juniors in Cooper Van Dyke and Jon Klint.  Jon qualified as an individual for the Region Tournament last year.

Top players to watch?

On the girls side, Junior Rika Arnett is poised to have a breakout season. She and Sophomore Lucy Gilbo competed in the District Tournament last year. Rika was only a few spots away from making the State Tournament as an individual.

Any new members that will make an impact this year?

One newcomer to watch is Freshman Audrey King.

What should fans know about this year’s team?

We welcome any and all golf fans to come out and watch a match. I can promise you that these kids will impress you with how good they play!
