C25K – Nolensville Running Club

The Nolensville Running Club (NRC) is not just about running. NRC’s official purpose is to promote local philanthropies and volunteer activities among our local runners. One of our favorite events is the Couch To 5K (C25K), where our club members volunteer as mentors to those who join the C25K program.

We are finally excited to announce details for this year’s C25K. This free program, for ages 12 and up, will run from March 23rd to May 18th, with the official 5k race on Sunday, May 21. This year’s group will meet at 6:15 every Monday and Thursday at Nolensville High School. The C25k is designed for all levels, from walkers to experienced runners who want additional coaching. We could not execute this program successfully without our club’s members volunteering as mentors for each of the different pace groups in the program! In addition to C25K, the Nolensville Running Club also participates in other activities to give back to our local community. In the past, we’ve sponsored Thanksgiving meals through the Nolensville Food Pantry, Angel Tree for families at Tusculum Elementary, and collected gift cards/supplies for flood recovery in Nolensville. More recently, NRC ordered snacks for elementary school students at McGavock Elementary, and we stocked their shoe closet for Christmas so that children have safe and warm athletic shoes. The club is currently raising money for the Nolensville Food Pantry in January by pledging miles for the month by paying the difference between what they actually run and what they pledged; some are even paying for each mile they run, which can add up to a lot for our members.  The club is exploring other volunteer activities throughout 2023 and looks forward to continuing to give back to the great town of Nolensville!
