Mad For The Best Korean Food In Nolensville!
Jay Yu and Wonseol Lee are two of the more humble, soft-spoken, and kind local restaurateurs you could ever hope to meet. But even they insist with absolute confidence that it will only be a matter of time before everyone in Nolensville is lining up for a seat at their new Korean restaurant, Mad for Galbi.
After all, Jay and Wonseol are no strangers to opening new restaurants. And each time, they became a big success. “When I opened Yuno Sushi, some people in town weren’t aware of our delicious sushi and the other dishes we prepared,” Jay said. “Ten years later … it’s a hot place to be. We hope the same will happen again.” Wonseol agreed. He also has another successful restaurant, Hai Woon Dai, which he purchased six years ago. “We want Mad for Galbi to be the pride of Nolensville,” he said with a laugh.
This is Jay, Wonseol, and their respective wives’ first joint venture, and they may have hit the jackpot. Mad for Galbi serves authentic Korean soul food and Korean BBQ recipes that have been passed down from one generation to another. The menu is expansive, too, with popular dishes such as the Golden Mad Hot Chicken, Korean Chicken Soup, Prime Rib Eye, Garlic Pork Belly, and various BBQ combo plates.
Select chef specials include the Galbi-Jjim, a plate of braised beef short ribs cut into chunks with vegetables seasoned in mild, spicy, sweet soy sauce. It also comes with two bowls of rice. There’s also the Gamjatang, which is big pieces of pork bones and potatoes in hot and spicy broth, servedserved with two rice bowls.
Trust us when we say that was only a short list of the quality food and options you can expect at Mad for Galbi. And the best part is that everything is made with pride. They carefully select the ingredients for their many dishes and use USDA Prime Grade meats to ensure a unique dining experience emphasizing the most essential quality of Korean BBQ and authentic Korean cuisine. “I like the variety we have here,” Jay said. “Korean food has more variety than Western food and even Eastern and Western Asian cuisines. Even compared to Japanese food, which we have experience with, there is more variety.” He added, “Korean food is also very healthy for you. We only use the best meat and the best produce.”
Mad for Galbi has only been open for roughly one year but already has 104 happy reviews on Google. As one customer wrote, “New good Korean BBQ place. Overall, [the] taste was really good! Mad Galbi and other meats were fresh and delicious. :). Please try JjamBbong if you like seafood noodles! I will go back to try other food for sure! Highly recommended!!!!” Another wrote, “A great experience from start to finish! I’ve been looking for a [Korean BBQ] spot with quality brisket, and I’m happy to say I’ve finally found it! Their meats are all excellent, and the sauces that go with them complement them well. [I] can’t forget about the side dishes — they provide unlimited banchan with the combo meals, so there is plenty to go around. The workers there just make the entire experience better. They’re kind, caring, and helpful. We were so grateful for the amazing service! Truly cannot wait to go back and try their other dishes and meats!”
