At Mill Creek Middle in the heart of Nolensville, Mill Creek Musical Theatre fosters a sense of confidence and self-assurance to embrace the spotlight, while enabling students to discover their unique voices and artistic identities. 

Through immersive workshops, rehearsals, and performances, individuals develop a deep appreciation for the nuances of performance art, understanding the power of gestures, expressions, and intonations in conveying profound messages.

The Mill Creek theater program cultivates an environment of inclusivity and diversity, celebrating the richness of various cultures, perspectives, and backgrounds. They transcend the boundaries of a traditional educational experience, shaping individuals into empathetic, confident, and culturally aware beings, equipped with the tools to navigate the world’s complexities with grace and creativity.

Mill Creek Musical Theatre at Mill Creek Middle shined in November with the production of Xanadu, Jr. Xanadu, Jr., follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California, where she embarks on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time — the first Roller Disco. (Hey, it’s 1980!) When Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds. 

Mill Creek pioneered LED light-up bracelets for the audience that were synced to the music, courtesy of their amazing student lighting designer, Will Brown. Using them, Mill Creek became the first in the district to use this amazing technology in an artistic venue. Technical theater students diligently researched all the artwork, design, and technology from the 1980s. Tech students shined with their popping fresh hot pink and neon 80s scenery.

Mill Creek Musical Theatre looks forward to their next adventure attending the Junior Theatre Festival in January, Shrek, Jr., in April, and Anne of Green Gables in May.
