Nolensville Town Life Magazine Selects Winners
Addison Leichty and Cole Spivey, NHS Advertising Class
Nolensville High School Advertising students vied for two spots in Nolensville Town Life’s latest issue. Students were given information on two local businesses, West Coast Burgers & Dogs and Kali’s Donuts and More, and were asked to create ads featuring them. These students are part of the Marketing Pathway at NHS, studying Advertising in their 3rd year. The opportunity have their work published before heading off to college to study business incited their creativity and sense of competition. Senior Kaylee Haire, a 4th year Marketing student, shared, “This opportunity to work with Nolensville Town Life magazine has been such an incredible experience. To take things I’ve learned in Mrs. White’s classroom and put them to use in my own community is incredible.” Through the course of their years on this pathway, students create a digital portfolio of artifacts to share with prospective future employers and clients. What better portfolio piece than an actual published ad from their hometown? “This is a remarkable opportunity for my students to understand what it takes to market in the real world with real clients on a real deadline. This experience is so valuable to them,” says Marketing pathway teacher Leslie White.
