On the Links with NHS Head Golf Coach, Chris Ladd
How many years have you coached at Nolensville High?
This is my ninth year at Nolensville as a teacher / coach. This will be my fourth year coaching the golf team.
What are your expectations of the 2024 Team?
My expectations for our golf team this year are really no different than the expectations we have every year, Our district is hands down the toughest Golf district in the state of Tennessee. Our goal for every match we play, is to just try and perform our very best. That sounds very cliche’, but it is true. We want to be playing our best golf at the end of the season when the District Tournament begins. Unless we figure out a way to change the rules and be able to put some defense on the other team, all we can do is go out and try to be the best version of ourselves in every match.
Who are your key Seniors?
Our seniors this year on the boys side are: Preston Cobb, Sawyer Holden, and Clark Early. On the girls side it is Ashton Wood.
Top players to watch?
Keep your eyes on Sophomores Cooper Van Dyke and Jon Klint along with Junior Tyagaraja Mandayam. These three have been working very hard in the off-season and I they will shoot some low numbers this year. On the girls side, Sophomore Rika Arnett is poised to put up some low numbers as well and maybe a shot at making the State Tournament.
Any new players that will make an impact this year?
We are excited ot welcome three new freshmen to the team this year in Lucy Gilbo, Aubrie Lusso, and Jackson Combs.
What should fans know about this year’s team?
The team would like to encourage the public to come out to a match. There is no admission and most courses will offer a golf cart for a small fee. I am excited and looking forward to having a great season this year!
