Q & A with Volleyball Coach Brett Young

How many years have you coached at Nolensville High? 

This is my fifth year coaching at Nolensville. 

What are your expectations of the 2023 Team?  

I expect our team to battle for a district championship. We play in the toughest volleyball district in the state. Any team that can make it out of our district tourney has a great chance to be a state tournament team.

Maggie Allred, Marlee Holden, Bella Martin, Kailee Sandler

Any new players that will make an impact this year?

Taylor Collins, Eden Pietrzak

What should fans know about this year’s team?

This is a different team from the last four years. We are still a talented team, but we’re one that lost six of our nine regular lineup players from last year. Probably our least experienced team in terms of returning varsity time. 

Anything else you want to say about this year’s team?

This is a close-knit, caring, hard-working group that we have this season. I think we will see improvement over the course of the season and have a true chance to be a threat to reach the state tournament by the end of the year.
