Sam Chapman has a simple yet profound approach to life – be kind and help each other. He is a big people person who enjoys talking to anyone and everyone, even if it’s cracking a few jokes back and forth or talking about life. People know him as a friendly guy who treats everyone like a family.
The general manager at Wash 37135 loves hard work and enjoys taking responsibility.
“I like interacting with different people every day. Work doesn’t feel like work if you enjoy it so much. I also tell everyone to enjoy every day like it’s your last, and don’t forget to stop and smell the roses.”
Sam picked this line of work not knowing all the skills and knowledge it would help him with his everyday life, from learning management skills and business knowledge from plumbing and maintenance that can help him with his house repairs. He enjoyed learning as he was granted a trip to complete a two-week training course for maintenance and repair certification for their tunnel equipment through company travel!
“From being a worker to a weekend manager to the general manager of the wash, it’s been a great journey. I have been employed with Wash 37135 for 3 years and 6 months. I am getting close to 4 years, the longest time I have ever been with a job/company,” Sam said.
“The best two things from my job are seeing my friends, families, and customers come and leave satisfied with our services and how good a car can look after going through our tunnel. I strive to make every person I interact with feel heard and respected and have an enjoyable experience when visiting us at the car wash.”
Sam shared that the Nolensville location (Wash 37135) had an interesting upbringing as a reasonable sum of people were against building a car wash in Nolensville. When the wash was opened, it soon became popular. It was a convenient spot for the locals as no car washes were nearby. Sam is proud to serve his community through Wash 37135 and is grateful for the town and its people.
“I love that this town still has the “small town vibes” even when things around here constantly change. Seeing how much the town has grown over the years is neat, but there is a good, comforting feeling of seeing familiar faces around town. I have also enjoyed many community opportunities to get involved in keeping the small town going, like the farmers market, running clubs, pickleball, bicycle clubs, etc. You just have to find what you enjoy around town, as I’m sure it’s out there.”
