Quality Insurace Dedicated to the Community

Since launching her own independent insurance agency focused on the Hispanic market in 2014, Claudia Valencia has grown her business to six central Tennessee locations.

It all started with the home office in Nashville. Since then, she has added Madison, LaVergne, Murfreesboro,
Smyrna, and since October on Westcott Lane between Nolensville and Antioch.

That’s impressive for a person who originally came to the U.S. from El
Salvador in 1999 at age 19 and taught herself to speak English. She initially worked in various businesses including customer service for a car dealership. Looking for a better opportunity, her ability to speak Spanish netted her a similar job with Allstate in 2006.

After earning the appropriate licenses, she became an agent and in 2009 switched to Farmers Insurance where she learned about commercial lines.

Wanting to be able to offer policies from multiple companies, she decided it was best to go independent.

“I have diversity in my agency and people from different cultures, but we sell a lot of commercial lines like worker’s compensation and liability,” she said. On the personal side, Valencia handles homes and vehicles allowing
for cross-promotion of policies.

“Because we offer more products, we can offer more options for the clients,” she said. “We don’t just have one company we’re representing. We can offer over 20 companies.

“We also make sure the client understands the coverage. Whatever they are going to sign, we want them to explain it back to us what they’re buying.”

Whatever Valencia is doing is working with more than 7,000 satisfied clients and hopes to add more in the Nolensville area.

“Nolensville is a little different market for us,” she said. “We’re not just focused on the Hispanic community. That area is growing fast, and we want to be able to serve everybody and give them more options. We’re shopping for the best price for them.”
